Pafos

The Pafos Regional Board of Tourism is actively promoting the region as a year-round holiday destination by participating in a series of B2B workshops in Poland from October 14 to 18, 2024.

This initiative marks the second engagement of the year, taking place across three major cities: Gdansk, Warsaw, and Wroclaw.

The tourism board aims to strengthen relationships with commercial partners and travel agents, highlighting Pafos as a prime travel location.

The Polish market has become increasingly important, with visitor arrivals significantly boosted by Ryanair’s flights to Paphos.

As of August 2024, over 225,000 Polish travelers visited Cyprus, representing a 25% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Notably, Pafos has captured a substantial share of this growth, with approximately 49% of Polish visitors choosing to stay in the region.

The air connectivity between Pafos and Poland has reached a peak not seen in 30 years, with around 18 inbound flights per week from seven Polish airports currently operational. For the upcoming winter season (2024-2025), approximately 16 flights per week are anticipated.

The participation in workshops and exhibitions, along with the hosting of travel agents, journalists, and influencers, is part of a broader strategy involving local tourism organizations, the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, and Hermes airports.

This collaborative effort aims to enhance tourism development and attract visitors throughout the year.
